Water lily

Hi
Todays card has several different people to thank for its existence. Gail, my blogging friend sent me some gorgeous 6" x 6" pieces of paper so just had to find a way to use them. I decided Curts picture (Curt's World) of lily pads would be lovely along with a gorgeous water lily cut from an svg from http://pansiespaperpetals.blogspot.com/
Next, on the inside a little poem of sorts.
Lined the envelope with some of the backing paper and ta da.
Have a Blessed day.

p.s. just might have to find a dragon fly or butterfly to sit on the lily pad or the flower. lol

Pansy and butterflies

Hi
I have tried my hand at watercolors for some of the digis I have. This is my first one and I have done a House Mouse one which will soon make its way into my blog when I can figure out how to mat it. lol
The aperture on this card is an svg from Penny Duncan Creations. There were some flower stems but I cut them off. The little cut out butterflies at the top right hand corner were also on the bottom but I didn't cut them in SCAL.
The butterflies are svgs from Cely in Creating in Carolina. They are watercolor paper colored with watercolors as are the pansies. A little gold bling and some stickles. The inside is lined with the same green paper as the envelope.
The photo is very pale but as usual if you want to see it closer, click on the pic.
Have a Blessed day.

Pansies

Hi
Yes, another p.o.t.d (pile on the desk) card.
This pansy picture was printed onto cardstock and then I used mod podge to make it stiff and shiny. I used a die cut to make the opening and cut some of the leaves and petals so I could overlap the card. Then I smudged a little green around the edges. In order to cover up the inside where the cuts were made I cut another piece of lightweight card stock and made the insert with that. I didn't have any more pansies so I didn't line the envelope. I used a colored envelope instead. I think you can see it better if you click on the picture.
Have a Blessed day.

Rescued card-sort of

Hi
Lazy, lazy me. I have been far more interested in reading than card making.
Here is a card that was once another card. (March 7, 2011 Quilt card) I had taken the quilt part off and put it on another card but the yellow background was still on the blue background. The incire paper cut (Penny Duncan cut files) had been laying on the p.o.t.d. (pile on the desk) and I decided to put it on the blue cardstock. The yellow frame didn't do anything for it so I pulled it off and put the incire on. Then I used 2 mauve butterflies but didn't like them so made 2 blue ones. Butterflies are part of an svg cut card by Cely at Creating in Carolina. Now I needed something to put in the center and my eye fell on my box of wedding card embellishments. There were some cute little white flowers so I grabbed the watercolor paints and dabbed a bit of blue on them and attached them to the card. Some stickles on the butterflies and the ends of the incire made my bling. Liking it a whole lot better than the original. The tea lite holder was one that I got off card making free download site.
My holder was one I made years ago and it is meant to hold a cook book but it sits in front of my homemade light box that I use for taking pictures of my cards and I have been trying to use it for my cards.
Have a Blessed day.

Blame it on the P.O.T.D.

Hi
This is what happens when you let the p.o.t.d (pile on the desk) entice you.
I wanted to try Stampscape with blue ink so I stamped it on cardstock, then used embossing powder and the heat gun. Added some pink vellum and popped the Madison Grand Window die with pop dots and added a wee bit of lace for a curtain. Now this is where the p.o.t.d may have gotten me into trouble. Green and blue is not something I would usually put together but they were in the pile and so they ended up on the card. Some pearls for bling and there you have it.
Blame it on the p.o.t.d!!!!! You may have to click on the pic to see things better.
Have a Blessed day.

Blue daisy

Hi
While in Michaels one day I happened to notice the blue daisies with big white dots in the flower section. They were rather pretty and I thought they would make a cute card. So I cut out the daisy and with my white gel pen added lots of dots. Then off to the p.o.t.d (pile on the desk) for some scraps. Added the ribbon to the cardstock and ran it through polka dots folder on the CB. Added a bit of bling and ta da-pretty spring card. Lined the envelope and the inside of the card with the ribbon and cardstock, the same as the front.
Have a Blessed day.

Rural Crime Watch

Hi
Here is the project we were working on. I know there are duplicates but I have tried to erase them but with no success, so there they are.
The wagon wheels, lanterns and numbers were cut with Cricut Old West cartridge and out of fun foam. By the way, fun foam and the Cricut make really rich looking projects. The letters for the slogan were cut from Storybook in the SCAL library. These were the only things I had a hand in.
The rest of the project was the work of my friend and her family, she is the owner of "our" Cricut. The logs came from fence posts on the farm. The skulls were done by a lady who does ceramics. The bales and moss are from Michaels.
What a fun project.
Have a Blessed day.

Thank you card(s)

Hi
I know I have been away for awhile but this is part of the project I was working on with my friend (the owner of "our" Cricut).
There will be a couple of posts with this project.
This card is pretty self explanatory. The wheel and sign are from Cricut Old West cartridge. The stamp on the inside is Tree Trio by Stampscapes #088F. Lined the envelope with the same tree trio stamp. The snow on the sign and wheel was just glue with some Dollar Store snow. Must get a real card making snow pen. There were 9 of these cards made.
Have a Blessed day.

The lace is from my huge stash.
Lined the envelope with the same image and there you have it.
