Michaels B-day June 2011

Hi
This is just a quickie card for my grandson Michaels birthday. With all that was going on here I didn't have much time. He is going to be playing football this year and he loves all stuff football.
The card is a type of easel card I guess. It didn't want to stay standing up. Perhaps the football was too heavy. It had money stuffed into it to round it out and make him hunt a little for it. The envelope had a football on it with his name.
Have a Blessed day.

What's NOT on my desk

Hi
What's NOT on my desk today is our darling Shadow. We laid her to rest today on her favorite fur blanket on a bed of beautiful lilac flowers on a hillside overlooking a serene beautiful valley. She loved it when I brought fragrant bouquets into the house. She would sit for hours just rubbing her face in them.
Thanks for stopping by and I know all you who have furbabies will understand why I won't be making cards for awhile. I do hope that you will pop around to see when I am back.
Have a Blessed day.

What's on my desk

Hi
This is what's on my desk today. Shadow loves this little box behind my computer screen. As you can see there are some Amy Chomos gel pens, to the right of my desk there is a few svgs cut out and my notebook where I store all the info from different blog sites and of course you can see that I was looking at all the blogs.
I know it isn't a card but that is in progress.
Have a Blessed day.

My mothers painting

Hi,
I have no cards just yet so I thought I would show you one of my mothers paintings. She started painting after all us kids had left home. So she was well into her 50's. They started their family later in life.
I hope you can see it well but if not click on the picture.
I did not inherit her sense of depth, color or shadowing but I did inherit her love of art.
Hope you enjoy this!
Have a Blessed day.

Southern plantation

Hi
Do you ever have a picture in your mind of how a card should be? Well, I did. However, the only thing on this card that I started with were the flowers and the Brocade Window die cut folder. lol
The background in the window is from a paper pack from Michaels called Elegance by Recollections. The flowers were in an old corsage. The corners are a Cuttlebug corner die cut. The leaves are from a free svg cut by Bird. I put a piece of clear acetate from a package over the image. The envelope was lined with part of the Michaels paper. Just finishes off a pretty card I think. It was rather cloudy when I tried to take the pic. Perhaps if you wanted to see detail you could click on the picture.
Have a Blessed day.
