Spinner Card and another tip

Hi
This was my first try at a spinner card. Card and matching envelope. I know there have been lots out there and I have looked at them and wanted to try them but finally Tracy at Tracey's Treasures little frog card gave me the gentle nudge I needed. These are great and I think I just may make a few more. lol Also, I want to say thank you to Leslyann at LA'sCricut and SVG creations for the spinner card overlay. I am not so good with the exacto knife so was grateful for an SVG cut to do it for me.
I left a tip about the swiffer duster on my "Cat Scanner" entry and that was: a swiffer duster makes short work of cleaning up all those itsy bits of paper and glitter; one swipe and it's all gone. It even takes it off the cat. lol
The other little tip I have is that since this is the season for lots of baking I stick the loose recipes I am using to my stove hood fan with a magnet. They are easy to read and don't get all gooped up.
Have a Blessed day.

The "Cat Scanner" at work and a tip

Hi
I wanted to share the reason that making cards becomes a bit dicey at my house. Her name is Shadow and that is exactly what she does. If I am on the computer she is right in front of it. This is part of my work table where I put my cards together. My chair becomes fair game if I leave it and so she actually has her own steno chair but mine is more comfortable. lol
OK back to making cards. I have a little tip that I would like to share. If you, your cat, or your work table get covered with all that wonderful glitter just take your swiffer duster and whisk away. Gets rid of it and no one goes to work glittering like a Christmas tree!! :) or trailing it all over the whole house.
Have a Blessed day.

Hands to work, hearts to God

Hi
These are the negatives from Heart in Hand snowflake on http://extremecards.blogspot.com/ According to her the Shaker belief is "hands to work, hearts to God". She has a wonderful site and of course I "borrow" many of her svg cuts. The snowflake is absolutely gorgeous but I haven't done anything with it yet. I had to take the negatives off the Cricut mat so I just thought I could make something of them. Taking some clear contact paper I just laid it over them and lifted them with the help of the little tool from Cricut. Once I had them all on the contact paper I did not feel like picking them off so dusted them with fine glitter and popped them onto the card, leaving the contact paper on. Added a few embellishments and there you have it. Lined the envelope and added a bling and called it good.
Have a Blessed day.

Using the negatives from the tree trimming card

Hi
The negative cuts from my tree trimming step card were so pretty I hated to toss them away so just made a very simple Christmas card from them. The tree trimming step card was cut on SCAL and the SVG cut came from Cheryl http://cafexpressions.blogspot.com
As you know, if you follow my blog, I like to use whatever is around the house. So the paper is from the DS as are the poinsettias. I did however make an exception and went to Michaels for some sentiments. These were in the $1.50 bin and I had a 40% off coupon. Yay for me.
Have a Blessed day.

Tree trimming step card

Hi
Thanks to Cheryl @ http://cafexpressions.blogspot.com/ for her wonderful patience and teaching ability this tree trimming step card got me into the spirit of Christmas card making. After much trial and error (because of limited computer knowledge on my part) we finally got her great SVGs into my SCAL program. Looking forward to doing many more cards in this vein.
This was my trial and error card so I used stickers from the DS.
Thanks Cheryl.
Have a Blessed day.

Pop Up Thank you card

Hi
I am in love with the pop up cards and this is one I did just to see what it would look like. I know I will do a lot more of this type with different colors and different outer designs. There are a row of cutout hearts on the front of the card. (forgot to photograph the outside) This one has hearts but I think I can change the hearts with my trusty SCAL program. It will just take me awhile to figure out how to replace hearts with something else appropriate to the card I want. I matched the envelope and made butterflies on the inside and outside flap by squishing the hearts a bit and putting the points together and drawing on antenae with a gold pen. I love the following site for all her wonderful pop up cards. http://extremecards.blogspot.com/
She has other great stuff there too.

Another fall card (pumpkins)

Hi
I really wanted to do another fall card more in keeping with all the Halloween stuff out there but since Halloween isn't really one of my favorite holidays it needed to be just something with pumpkins.
I used the background from SVGCuts advertising and the pumpkins were just cut out and just curved them a little and put them on with dimensionals.
So it was just a nice simple card. Sewed the layers together with the vine stitch and just a straight stitch and added a wee flower and some Martha Stewart leaves. Made a matching envelope and I was done.
Have a blessed day.

Fall harvest scene

Hi

I wanted to do a fall card and came across this weaving style but I am sorry I can not remember whose site it was on. I think it may have been

http://selmasstampingcorner.blogspot.com/ but I am not sure. If it isn't I would like to say thank you to who had this and if you let me know I will give you the credit for it.

The card is quite small for me. Probably about 4x5. I really must start making notes about where I get my ideas and what I am using (besides Dollar Store stuff hehe).

I found the harvest scene on an old music book I had and used my trusty computer to change the color. The little flowers have centers with glitter glue but it really doesn't show in the photo. I used the harvest scene on a photo album I made earlier in my posts for a 25th Wedding Anniversary. It was called Anniversary album with gift box and I posted it Aug. 12, 2010.
Flowers are from SVGCuts and the leaves are Martha Stewart punch.

Have a Blessed day.

Sheet music-notecard

Hi
I have been sooo missing in action.
Somehow time has slipped away and the mojo with it. However, I do think it is coming back and I will post a few cards during this week. They have just been sitting in the camera. (I think it is called procrastination lol)
I needed to mail a disc of pictures to my daughter but needed something substantial so decided to try the sheet music from http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/
I just added the daisies and after the picture was taken added some gold antique color to them. I distressed the sheet music with my fingernail. Mounted it onto brown cardstock and some patterned paper from (where else?) The Dollar Store.
Now all that remains is to find an envelope to fit. This card ended up being 7 3/4" x 5 1/2" which doesn't surprise me as I never can seem to stay within the 5x7 cardstock. (I really really want to get my cards down to a smaller size).
Have a Blessed day.
